From installation
to your first drawing.

Follow these steps to prepare your files and activate your device.

Check the installer

Read the download status and the system requirements included with the release.

Open a copy

Open a DWG or DXF copy. Check fonts, layers and objects, and keep referenced files in the same folder structure.

Try a small edit

Edit a line, save the copy and open it again. Check the print output before using the app for important work.

Register and activate.

These instructions describe v1.5.0. The public installer and production activation connection are still being prepared.

Register in the app

Follow the first-launch device registration prompt. The seven-day trial starts when registration is completed.

Buy for this device

Find your 64-character device registration ID in the app's license guide. Enter it on the purchase page. A verified production payment is linked to this registered device.

Restart while online

After approval, close and reopen TopoSnap while connected to the internet. The app checks its approval status.

Registration sends device-identification information and proof of registration. Drawings, filenames and the private key kept on your device are not uploaded.

Common questions.

Can I stay offline permanently?

The approved app periodically connects to check the license. You will need internet access again when its current signed license expires.

What if I change computers?

Register the new computer in the app, then contact support with your purchase details and new device ID. After verifying ownership, an administrator revokes the old device and transfers approval to the new one. Lost or broken computers are supported. New approval starts after the old offline lease expires, which may take up to seven days. Reinstalling the app does not restart the trial.

Approval is complete, but the app still asks.

Connect to the internet, close TopoSnap and reopen it. If the problem continues, send us the app version and the error shown on screen.

Use your existing CTB plot styles.

  1. Run CTBIMPORT and select your existing .ctb file.
  2. Run CTBON to apply plot styles. Use CTBOFF or CTBTOGGLE to compare the display.
  3. Review paper, scale and output settings before Windows printing or PDF export.

Supported color, lineweight, screening, grayscale and linetype settings are imported. Check a sample against your reference print before important output. CTB authoring (CTBCREATE) is unavailable in this build.
